How It All Started.

The Inspiration Behind Luma Golden Days

Luma Golden Days was inspired by my aunt, a remarkable individual from Philadelphia. Whenever we met, she would express how incredibly happy she was after joining a program in her city that provided social connections, activities, and support for seniors. Her joy and positive experience sparked an idea in us: how could we create something similar to benefit the community in our neighbourhood?

Motivated by her story and the desire to make a difference, we envisioned Luma Golden Days as a place where seniors could thrive, engage, and feel supported. Our mission is simple yet powerful—to enhance the lives of aging individuals and their caregivers by fostering a sense of belonging and well-being.

Today, Luma Golden Days continues to grow, bringing care, companionship, and joy to seniors and their families in our community.

Social Adult Day Care Center

What exactly is it?

A Social Adult Day Care Center is a community-based program designed to provide a safe and engaging environment for older adults or individuals with disabilities who need supervision during the day. These centers offer a variety of activities, including recreational, educational, and social programs, aimed at enhancing participants’ physical, emotional, and cognitive well-being.

Services typically include:

Supervised Activities: Games, crafts, music, and group exercises.

Social Interaction: Opportunities to connect and form friendships in a supportive setting.

Nutritious Meals and Snacks: Catered to meet dietary needs.

Support Services: Assistance with personal care and connections to community resources.

Social adult day care centers are a valuable resource for families, providing respite for caregivers while ensuring their loved ones are engaged and well cared for during the day. These centers foster a sense of community and belonging, enriching the lives of participants and helping them maintain independence.
